QuickTemp – Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 8, 2026
QuickTemp is a weather app that shows current temperature, forecasts, tides, and air quality for any location. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
Data we collect
- Location: If you grant permission, we use your device's GPS coordinates to fetch weather data for your current position. Your coordinates are sent directly to the weather API (Open-Meteo) and are never stored on our servers.
- No account required: QuickTemp does not require registration and does not collect personal information such as name, email, or phone number.
Data stored on your device
QuickTemp stores the following data locally on your device using browser storage (localStorage):
- Your preferred unit settings (°C/°F, km/h/mph)
- Your saved favourite cities (name and coordinates)
- The time of the last weather update
This data never leaves your device and is not shared with anyone.
Third-party services
- Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) – provides weather, marine, and air quality data. Your coordinates are sent to their API to retrieve forecasts. See their privacy policy at open-meteo.com/en/terms.
- BigDataCloud (bigdatacloud.com) – used for reverse geocoding (converting coordinates to a city name). See their privacy policy at bigdatacloud.com/privacy-policy.
- Google AdMob – the Android version of QuickTemp displays ads via Google AdMob. Google may collect device identifiers and usage data for advertising purposes. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Children's privacy
QuickTemp is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new date.
